The measurement of fast fluctuation times requires special single photon detectors. In the past, the ALV/SO-SIPD has been proven to be a reliable tool for performing such measurements. However, since in most experiments, fast fluctuation times are usually coupled with very low scattering intensitiy, “pseudo” cross correlation can now be coupled with more red sensitivy PMTs or Avalanche Photo Diode Detectors as well - both will boost the sensitivity at red wavelength by factors !.
